It has come to our attention that recently there have been multiple e-mail fraud attempts, known as “Phishing”, that were initiated via e-mail to credit union members that appear to be from the credit union or an associate of the credit union. This false e-mail asked for the recipient to click on a link to verify account information, such as account and pin numbers.
San Juan Mountains Credit Union or its associates do not ask credit union members for such personal and confidential information through e-mail. Anyone who receives an e-mail that implies that it was sent by the credit union or its associates and asks for account information should consider it to be a fraudulent attempt to obtain their personal account data for illegal purposes and should not follow the instructions in the e-mail.
If you have received such an e-mail, please notify the credit union immediately. If you have responded and furnished personal account information, please call the credit union to change any PIN numbers you have and we will assist with any additional action to protect your account.
